Specialized Roles Once you've completed a performance review with your staff and have on them on the right track to success you can develop them even further by using specialized roles. These roles allow staff to take on more responsibility in areas of the shop that interest them. Establish your expectations for the role and ensure that you properly communicate the expectations. We want to set up for success! As with any new job, a specialist role will require three month probation. Near the end of this probation a follow up review is required to ensure staff are on the right track and that they are the right person for the job.

The following specialized roles are examples and there are many more possibilities. If you do not have anyone who fits these roles in your shop you should try to develop staff or recruit new people who can be developed to fill these roles.
