What We Buy

What do we want to buy from you?

Short answer: True vintage from late 60s to 90s youth culture. We accept clothing and accessories (ie: belts, bags, shoes). Some more specific interests of ours include: 100% cotton denim, timeless basics, and garments that are wearable everyday.

“Wearable” garments typically exclude items that require shape-wear underneath or simply don’t fit a modern lifestyle or body. Additionally, we prefer your garments are laundered and mended before selling with us; our customers adore a garment that has artful wear from its previous owner with room for them to love the garment more!

How do you know your garment fits these qualifications?! Reminder that “vintage clothing” refers to garments that were made at least 20 years ago. Yes, that means in 2024 garments made in 2004 have become vintage! While our trained buyer will do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to dating your garments, some good signs include:

  • ILWUG label tags

  • tags that say “made in USA”

  • certain materials ( ex: rayon, 100% cotton)

  • specific constructions

What do we typically say no to? Modern garments made in the last 20 years and modern “athleisure” of any type. We typically say no to high luxury brands, but if you think we ought to see it bring it in. Although brand new with tags is important to some people and shops, for us we prefer older garments.

What happens if my garment meets all these standards and you still don’t buy it!? Our store is small, and even though it may be vintage we don’t always have the storage capacity to hold on to every groovy thing that passes through our buying counter.
